Our story by Nazeli Founder Anna Mamadzhanova
NAZELI IS BORN
It took the stress of the pandemic and the damage it wrecked on my skin for me to realise that the products I was using were not as “helpful” as I thought. The saving grace of the lockdowns was that they provided me with plenty of time and opportunity for research. I never thought about silk as a way to protect my skin or hair and yet there it was.
Some of the attributed benefits of silk for the skin are that it is antimicrobial, helps to prevent sleep lines, and helps to regulate body temperature while sleeping. Silk is also known to be beneficial for the hair. It’s low absorbency and smoothness prevents tangles, friction, and breakage, making it one of tools in managing frizzy and dry hair.
And yet what I found out available on the market was simply not up to par. I read complaint after complaint about quality of the silk, the durability of products, poor stitching, and questions about whether the silk was even authentic. That was the conception of Nazeli (meaning elegant and graceful). It came out of the desire to provide consumers such as myself with real high quality silk and product. After two years of researching and testing, we finally launched our product .
We paid special attention to details on the stitching. The silk that we use is 30 momme mulberry silk, which is the highest density known to be on the market currently for beauty products. We also wanted to invest in premium packaging, because let’s be honest beauty care products are a great gift! Finally, we have added a certificate of authenticity to all our products for quality control.
